Little Miami Watershed Network

An article was posted in the Xenia Gazette on February 14, 2018. The article describes the past, present and future efforts to preserve and protect one of the most scenic areas in the State of Ohio. Fifty years ago this month (Feb. 28, 1968) the Ohio Legislature passed the first Scenic Rivers Act in the nation. The Little Miami River was the first river in Ohio to be designated as a State Scenic River. Efforts continue today to preserve this National and State treasure. Over 40 organizations in Southwest Ohio are working to keep the river Clean and Healthy for All of Us to enjoy as well as the large amount of wildlife that depend on this critical habitat to survive.
